Murmurations

In the Murmurations series, Bart Jan draws inspiration from the mesmerising natural phenomenon of starlings, moving in vast fluid formations across the sky. The constantly shifting, organic shapes, form the foundation of his compositions.

While the colour palette is rooted in the natural tones of the starling, he introduces unexpected tones to create tension and contrast. By combining organic movement with bold colours, he reinterprets Murmurations in a distinctive and contemporary visual language.
